About The Camp
MAN CAMP is a weekend to band together with other men ages 12 and up to encounter God through powerful times of praise, a timely spoken word and fellowship with others.
This is a weekend where you can expect to enjoy outdoor activities and experience God in powerful ways. Our camp is located right on the shoreline of beautiful Moose Lake. Some of the activities you will have the opportunity to take part in are axe throwing, knife throwing, fishing and team challenges. Other available activities include archery, swimming, and trail walking. We will be BBQing whole hogs, beef and chicken over the weekend. We will also have fresh coffee being served throughout the day for those wanting to sit back and enjoy some rest and relaxation. This is definitely a weekend you don’t want to miss!
Due to our limited accommodations for Man Camp, we are offering a few different options. However, we strongly encourage as many men as possible to bring a tent or RV to make it a camping experience to remember!
When you register, you will have the option to select one of the below accommodation options:
- Dorm on site (shared accommodation, 4-7 men per dorm)
- RV or Tent on site
- Off site – book your own hotel or local campground site
Man Camp registration fees include accommodations (dorm, tent or RV site), meals and program registration. If you decide to stay off site, your registration fee will only include meals and program registration.
Should you require 30-amp power for your RV, there will be an additional one time charge of $50.
If you are staying in a dorm, it will be assigned to you and any other men you have requested to share a dorm with. Any extra spots will be filled by other Man Camp participants. There will be washrooms and showers located within walking distance to the dorms and RV sites.
If you would like to stay off site, we have a special rate for Man Camp participants at the Chateau Inn & Suites in Bonnyville for $92 + tax per night. Call 780-687-8888 and mention you are with Moose Lake Pentecostal Camp when booking.
The Moose Munch Box will also be open for the weekend to purchase snacks and hot food.
Please note – we do offer some limited gluten friendly options, however our kitchen and utensils are not solely gluten free. Should you require more information please contact the director of the camp you are registering for.

Jonathan Bounds (Speaker)
Jonathan has served as the senior pastor at The Word Church of Lloydminster’s sister church in Loon Lake since 2005, and transitioned into also pastoring the Lloydminster church in 2011. Together with his wife, Tiah, they have committed their lives to seeing the Kingdom of God expand in the hearts of the church while also seeing it expand into our communities and beyond. It is their passionate desire to see Jesus glorified in Lloydminster, Loon Lake, and communities of Northern Canada, and they are thrilled to lead a thriving body of believers who share that same vision.

Steve Holmstrom (Speaker)
Steve, along with his wife Cara, are the founders of Zinger Oilfield Supplies Ltd – an oilfield rental company serving Northern Alberta since 2005. They have five children, and make their home in Drayton Valley, Alberta, Canada. For over twenty years Steve has enjoyed ministering to believers in local churches and in conference settings throughout Canada and beyond. His greatest passion is to seek the Lord’s presence and bring His Kingdom to the backwoods of the beautiful Alberta oilpatch.

Benjamin Loates (Worship Leader)

Jarl Groothuysen (Camp Director)
Jarl grew up knowing about God but never knew God personally until he was 30 years old. God met him one-on-one in power and slapped the world right out of him. With a ring on his finger and the armour of God fastened securely, Jarl’s life changed dramatically and a new trajectory was launched. Jarl is active with men and children ministry at camp and church and is excited to see where his faith walk will take him next.

Joshua Allen (Camp Director)
God has given me a fire in my heart to reach the world around me with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Testifying to what Jesus can do in a life, and encouraging those in the church already serving the Lord, to shine bright in His strength, and apply the Word of God to their lives. This family man, country boy is all about living a kingdom life right here right now.
