More About Camp

At Moose Lake Pentecostal Camp, our passion is creating a space where young people can encounter God. That’s why we’ve launched our first Hockey Camp, bringing together sport and faith to help athletes grow in skill, character, and purpose.

We hope every athlete leaves camp not only with improved hockey skills, but also with the tools to handle the pressures of the game—performance expectations, competition, and setbacks. Along the way, they build friendships, grow in character, and gain clarity about who they are and the unique purpose God has given them. By looking to Him for guidance, athletes leave with greater confidence and direction, both on and off the ice.

Ages
12-17 open to boys & girls

Camp Schedule
Monday, August 17 – Registration from 3:00–5:00 PM, followed by supper and an evening chapel. Evening chapels will feature professional hockey players sharing their testimonies and message for the athletes.

Tuesday to Friday – Athletes will be bused to the newly improved Glendon Arena for two hours of ice time, dry-land training, and a session with a mental performance coach who will share God’s perspective on navigating challenges as an athlete.

Afternoons include free time, team sports, and outdoor activities, while evenings conclude with chapel. Campers will thrive in an incredible environment, build lasting friendships, and grow in character, developing both on and off the ice.

The camp concludes Friday August 21st with a wrap up from 4-5pm in the Tabernacle, parents are welcome to join.

Jared McAmmond

Jared has been blessed to spend most of his life playing the game of hockey, a sport that he feels has shaped his character, discipline, and work ethic. Passion and knowledge for the game were passed down through his family; his father played in the Western Hockey League, and his uncle, Dean McAmmond, enjoyed an incredible 17-season career in the NHL.

Jared’s own journey included competing at the AAA level and being selected in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft alongside several future NHL stars. He continued his development in Regina from ages 17 to 19 before concluding his competitive career in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Faith and Purpose

While hockey was a defining chapter of his life, Jared eventually found his ultimate purpose in his faith in Jesus Christ. During his playing career, he felt a clear divine calling that his time in competitive hockey had come to an end. Though walking away from a lifelong dream was difficult, the experience taught him to prioritize God’s plan above his own. Today, Jared is deeply grateful for the discipline hockey instilled in him and remains even more thankful for the peace, direction, and purpose he has found through his relationship with Christ.

Brinson Pasichnuk

Brinson was born and raised in Bonnyville, Alberta. Hockey has shaped his life from a young age, providing several opportunities to travel the world and compete at various competitive levels. From North America to Europe and China, Brinson has felt fortunate to travel abroad, experience different cultures, and spread his faith while competing in the sport he loves.

Brinson played Minor League Hockey in Bonnyville, Cold Lake, and Lloydminster before spending two seasons with the Bonnyville Pontiacs in the AJHL. Following his Junior career, Brinson was fortunate to earn an NCAA scholarship to Arizona State University, where he played Division One collegiate hockey for four years.

After college, Brinson signed as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks organization and spent two seasons playing professionally. During that time, he achieved his lifelong dream of playing on the big stage. During his first season, he was called up to play four games in the NHL, making a memory that will last a lifetime.

Originally, Brinson believed he would have a long professional career; however, during his second professional season Brinson was diagnosed with Celiac disease. The disease severely impacted his health, causing him to lose over 30 pounds and endure a new reality. This experience changed Brinson’s perspective on life and ultimately led him toward coaching — giving back to the hockey community that helped him accomplish his dreams.

Brinson believes God had a different path planned for him — one focused on becoming the best coach and mentor he can be.Today, Brinson continues to compete in a high-level senior hockey league and participates in the Indigenous National Championship every year. Hockey has always been a huge part of Brinson’s life and he feels incredibly grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and lifelong dreams the game has allowed him to fulfill.

Keenan Conn

Keenan Conn brings a strong combination of high-level playing experience, athlete development expertise, leadership, and faith-based mentorship that will make him a tremendous asset to camp. Based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Keenan developed through the Beaumont Hockey Association before advancing to play junior hockey in both the KIJHL and NOJHL. He is currently continuing his hockey career in the ACAC at Briercrest College and Seminary while pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Kinesiology.

With five years of coaching experience through Encounter Sports, Keenan has specialized in faith-based spring and summer hockey development for athletes ranging from U7 to U18. His experience includes coaching elite-level spring hockey, competing and developing athletes at major events such as the CCM Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts, and helping lead full-day summer camps focused on developing the complete athlete — both on and off the ice.

Keenan has also worked alongside and learned from respected leaders in the hockey development world, including
Hockey ministries international ,Tim Turk, Marcin Snita, and Ty Kolle Hockey. Through both his own playing career and mentorship under experienced coaches, he has gained valuable insight into skill development, leadership, character building, and athlete performance.

What sets Keenan apart is his passion for investing in young athletes beyond hockey alone. He is committed to helping players grow not only in skill and confidence, but also in character, purpose, and faith. He views hockey as a powerful platform to encourage, mentor, and inspire the next generation, helping athletes understand how their gifts and opportunities can be used to impact others and fulfill their God-given purpose.
